Meet Christine

I’m a naturally curious and slightly whimsical creative, drawn to color, antiques, and the quiet stories homes carry. I’m a New England–based mother, wife, and artist living just outside of Boston in an 1810 home we’re thoughtfully restoring over time. I paint during naptime, work part-time on the leadership team at Anthropologie, and spend weekends antique hunting with my small but enthusiastic sidekick. This independently run studio is rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and a love for making everyday life feel collected and artful.

Artist Statement

My work explores the balance between classic beauty and contemporary expression—where color, gesture, and layered texture serve as a visual language for emotional resonance, memory, and transformation. I am especially drawn to the idea that a painting can feel both rooted in the past and alive in the present: a moment captured not as it was, but as it is remembered, reinterpreted, or reimagined. Through my use of abstract floral forms, swirling layers, and tactile surfaces, I seek to evoke both comfort and curiosity—inviting the viewer to return to the work again and again and discover something new.

I work primarily in acrylic, often integrating vintage or antique frames as both inspiration and container. Each piece begins with a color study, followed by expressive mark-making and layered compositions, reflecting the way inspiration unfolds in daily life—through subtle shifts, small joys, and evolving perspective. My creative influences range from the timeless softness of Impressionist landscapes to the movement and emotion of abstract expressionism. I also draw heavily from interior design history and the quiet elegance of traditional homes.

In every work, I aim to bridge what was with what could be—creating contemporary paintings with an heirloom spirit. My current work continues to explore the emotional dimension of color, the romance of timeless materials, and the slow-building nature of artistic growth. I hope that my paintings bring warmth, depth, and a sense of belonging to the spaces they inhabit—and that they evolve with the viewer over time, just as the creative process transforms me
